Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known California Coast
A helicopter soaring near a well-attended California beach abruptly started spinning wildly, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Recordings shared online show the chopper starting to spin near the beach then falling in the direction of the border of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm groves and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the pavement were hurt. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
